How to make an adapted board book
I adapted this book for the little guy you met on Wednesday. He enjoys looking at books, but doesn't quite have the fine motor control to turn the pages of a board book by himself. The self-stick rubber pads provide enough spacing between pages that he is now able to turn the pages of the book. This is a very simple adaptation that anyone can do. You will need:
board book
self-stick rubber pads - from a craft or framing supply store (I found these at Michael's. You can also find them on Amazon)
Stick one rubber pad to the bottom corner of each page:
Barb, I have your book on my wish list, I just haven't gotten around to buying it yet. I like to read books before I recommend them for others, but I have heard a lot of wonderful comments about your book!
cool never seen these dot things i've used fabric things that you stick on bottom of chair legs etc. but i prefer these (won't get dirty) I will be hunting
Hi I really liked your blog! It is amazing! I also would like to know how did you add the Pinterest follow me botton on your page, as I am also have a blog and I would love to add this botton as well.
Thanks, Flavia! I'm glad you enjoy my blog. I love getting comments like that!
To add the Pinterest button, on the Pinterest website, just go to the "about" tab, then click on "Pin It Button" and scroll down to the "follow button for websites". I hope that helps!
I like it

ReplyDeleteThe rubber pads are typically used on the back of picture frames, so you can generally find them in the framing section of a craft store. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the share. Did using the small felt dots as had on hand. Now even the baby can easily work the pages.
